During our visit to the North York Moors we decided to stay in the comfortable campsites available at the old Fox and Hounds lodge.
In fact, the Fox and Hounds date back to 1555, and for centuries the hotel has been associated with the North York Moors.
You have access to many local walks right on your doorstep, including country roads, cycling and cycling routes – you’re spoiled for choice!
In the capsule we have electricity, bed and all necessary things. Although the bathrooms are on the other side of the court, we all have our own shower, toilet and sink. So it still feels private (we walk around a bit!).

A cozy hotel room is always nice, but the pods give us a new experience. Also, Fox & Hounds is a certified dark night club. This means that the pods are the best in enjoying the majesty of Morse night. In fact, the hotel provides guests with night lights, goggles and maps.
After a long day of exploring we happily returned to the hotel for dinner in the pub.
Nicola and her partner joined us at the bar and although we arrived late to join the free night, the pub was packed!
The weather was great and even though it was busy the food was great. The entire menu features seasonal, local produce and a variety of delicious home-cooked meals. You can choose from daily seasonal specials or book in for their Sunday brunch.

Fox and Hounds also like to drink. In the traditional bar you can choose from a variety of real regional beers, good wines or your favorite spirits. However, I stuck to Coke for 4 weeks and didn’t drink a drop of alcohol.
To renew your energy for a long day of exploration, you can visit the pub for breakfast. Anyway, I have to leave at dawn tomorrow to start walking again, so I’ll try to have breakfast on my next visit!
You can also explore the beautiful historic fishing villages of the Yorkshire coast, just a short drive from Fox and Hounds.
Whitby is a beautiful seaside town known throughout the country for its classic English beaches, beautiful sea views and excellent communications.
