Home to some of Vancouver’s largest Douglas firs and picturesque coastal scenery, it’s no wonder this park has been named one of the most beautiful in the city. In addition to being dog-friendly, all of the trails are relatively short and offer plenty of shade, making it the perfect place to adventure with your pup on hot summer days. Due to the large network of routes, we advise you to plan your route in advance. This ensures that you can finish at the popular lighthouse and enjoy your lunch with a great view!

If you’re looking for a relatively close and quick trip where your four-legged friend can join you, look no further! Quarry Rock is a popular choice among locals for these reasons, but that also means it can get busy. Our advice is to arrive early – before 9am is ideal, especially on sunny weekends. After enjoying the beautiful views of the bay at the top of the tour, we recommend spending time wandering the streets of downtown Deep Cove. As with all other trails, keep a close eye out for animals like bears and cougars, which may not be as friendly as your furry companion.

Dog Friendly Sedona, Az: Where To Hike, Stay & Eat With Pets
This sprawling wooded park in west Vancouver is a great place to hike with dogs. With over 55 kilometers of trails, there are plenty of options, many of which are optional. Use the park map to find out which trails and areas dogs are allowed on and if leashes are required.
Cypress Falls Park in West Vancouver has a beautiful canyon and two spectacular waterfalls. This is a short and easy walk, perfect for walkers and doggies of all abilities. The Brothers Creek Tour in West Vancouver isn’t at the top of the mountain, but there are many beautiful things to see, including old cedars, a waterfall, fern canyons, a small but picturesque lake, and the ruins of an army truck. Best Dog Friendly Hikes In Canada
We couldn’t leave Dog Mountain off our list of the best dog-friendly hikes in Vancouver. This popular trail begins at the Mount Seymour Ski Area parking lot and winds through the forest to a large rocky overlook. There are no big hills here, but rough terrain and puddles can slow you down. Dogs must be on a leash for this tour.
The easy path around Buntzen Lake goes through a beautiful rainforest with lots of ferns, moss and small waterfalls. You can also cross both the floating bridge and the suspension bridge. Your dog must be on a leash during the hike, but can swim off-leash afterward at the dog-friendly beach on the east side of the South Beach Picnic Area. Use our Buntzen Lake Guide to plan your trip.
This easy loop in Minekhada Regional Park in Coquitlam is a great easy walk for dogs and people as it is mostly flat with a steep climb to a beautiful view. This loop trail in Golden Ears Provincial Park goes through lush forest along the banks of Gold Creek and past a beautiful waterfall. Most of the trail is flat and easy to follow along old logging roads, but there are a few more challenging sections. Dogs must be on a leash. Top 10 Family Friendly Hiking Trails In Vancouver

With so many trails so close to the city, taking your dog out on his favorite walks is a treat for both of you, as well as your mental and physical health.
Before recommending great dog-friendly hikes in Vancouver, keep some trail basics and preparations in mind before you and your dog hit the trail.
For an easy year-round hike, just 10 minutes outside of Vancouver is Pacific Spirit Regional Park. This park has many trails that wind through more than 750 acres of forest, and many of these trails are dog-friendly. Look out for signs indicating which trails can be used with dogs, as well as “Dog Code of Conduct” signs. The trails are wide, mostly flat and shaded in many places, making it a great walk even on hot summer days.
All dog droppings should be disposed of properly so that they do not attract wild animals. Camosun Bog is part of an ecologically sensitive area, so all visitors must stay on the boardwalk and all dogs must be on a lead. Many of Pacific Spirit’s routes allow horseback riding, so keep your dogs close so they don’t get trampled. Enjoy the forest trails with your lucky friend and enjoy the sights and smells.
The Modern Female Hiker
Just north of Port Moody is a spectacular 5 mile trail that circles Buntzen Lake. It is one of the most popular dog walks in the region with clear signs indicating off-leash areas, two designated off-leash areas and a dog-friendly beach.
Dogs are not allowed on the territory of the central beach. Park rules are enforced by park officers and the RCMP, and leash violations carry a $115 fine. Dog waste bags are available on some sections of the trail. All dogs must be on a leash on the trail that circles the beautiful lake through groves of second-generation cedar and Douglas fir.
Immerse yourself in the rainforest in the company of your faithful companion in Capilano Canyon. If you follow the trail that goes around the tube bridge, it will take you about an hour and is a great walk. Shorter walks can be especially good for small or older dogs who can’t handle longer, more challenging trails.
